FACTS
Northern Ireland is a part of United Kingdom of Great Britain. It’s localized on the Irish isle, in the north-east, which the name tells us. In 2008 the inhabitants were 1,8 millions.

Expect English, people in Northern Ireland speak Irish. About 72 000 people speak the language every day.
Before the civil war in 1921, Northern Ireland wasn’t counted as a country of its own. It was just another part of Great Britain. Two parts in Northern Ireland had different opinions. One part wanted the country to stay united with Great Britain, while the other part wanted Northern Ireland as a republic with an own parliament.
After a while this deal showed up:
Northern Ireland got an own inside Home Rule and should establish a common board with the rest of Ireland.
There are still conflicts in the country between Catholics and Protestants.
Northern Ireland has a beautiful nature!
With lots of hills and valleys.
